The SAT Math Test measures your ability to apply mathematical concepts and skills to the types of problems you might see in college and in your career.

Our Tutors walk through solving tons of practice problems covering all of the skills students need for the SAT Math sections.

We offer customized duration of hours programs that are focused on the needs of each student to help students succeed in the New SAT format.

New SAT Digital Format
  • Test-takers in the U.S. will first experience the digital test for the October 2023 PSAT before the SAT officially goes digital in the U.S. in 2024.
  • The test will now only take two hours
  • There will now be only 2 sections — a reading and writing section(33 Questions) and a Math section(27 Questions).
  • Can use calculators for the entire math section
  • includes a timer, a reference sheet, and a flagging tool to mark the pending questions for review.
  • Despite these changes, the SAT will retain its 1600 scoring scale
Heart of algebra

The SAT focuses strongly on algebra — especially on the areas of the subject that are most essential for success in college and careers. Questions in the Heart of Algebra domain will assess your ability to analyze, fluently solve, and create linear equations and inequalities, as well as systems of equations using multiple techniques.

Passport to advanced mathematics

This will test your understanding of the structure of expressions, and you will be asked to analyze, manipulate, and rewrite these expressions. This includes an understanding of the key parts of expressions, such as terms, factors, and coefficients.

Problem solving and data analysis

Problem Solving and Data Analysis questions might ask you to create an appropriate equation from a word problem, convert units, or understand the meaning of different numbers or variables in an equation. You might need to use the different properties of operations (Parentheses, Exponents, Multiplication/Division, Addition/Subtraction = PEMDAS).Problems in this category may require you to use ratios, rates, and proportions. In college and beyond, you will need to interpret and synthesize data, so these are skills that are well worth developing!

Additional topics in math

While the majority of problems on the SAT Math Test fall into the first three domains, the test also includes additional topics in high school math. The additional topics include essential geometric and trigonometric concepts and the Pythagorean theorem.
